The Sopranos Series Finale Spoilers
I have to admit a secret passion of mine -- The Sopranos. It is the only show (or film) with a pervasive amount of violence and cursing that I can abide.
I did not get hooked on the show from the outset. In fact, I only began watching it last season after purchasing and watching all the previous seasons' episodes.
What draws me to it? I love the whole idea of being immersed in a sort of culture - in this case - "being Italian." All this said, people are trying to figure out what will happen on the last two episodes of The Sopranos. Here are my predictions based upon reading many interviews with characters, suppositions of other bloggers, and having watched all the episodes recently:
- In the previews, Sil refers to someone "turning." I do not believe this is "turning" to the Feds. I think it is a NJ guy talking to the NY group. This would be Paulie. He already set the stage talking to Johnny Sack. Paulie may die next week. It will be a real gangstyle killing too befitting of a true wiseguy.
- I believe that Meadow will be killed in the next episode. Perhaps she'll be driving Tony's car since she was rearended last night? The NY mob will spot Tony's car and think they are assassinating HIM and actually kill Meadow instead. Meadow's death will be the perfect impetus to set off the gang war and perfect irony. She symbolises everything good and pure in the mob families. The only one who is not guilty of anything; the one who has sincerely value in society. Now she's dead -- and -- after being disrespected by the NY wiseguy with no teeth.
- Something is up with the FBI agent with the parasite. I can't figure that part out. Something is eating away at him literally and figuratively. I'm not sure exactly how this figures into everything - at least yet.
- Leaks from the set say that the final scene occurs at Satriale's. It was a closed set that day with Tony being there. I can't think that the gang war will happen there if it was a closed set. Someone would have talked by now if all the "guys" were there. I personally think that the "war" will happen at Tony's house.
- Rumours abound that Adriana is not dead. I think that's crap. Sil did not botch that job. Unless HE'S the one ratting to the FBI and lets her go? Maybe that's a possibility but I so doubt it.
- One thing's for sure - when the dust settles, Phil and all his guys will be dead as will Tony, Sil, Bobby, Janice, Meadow, Paulie. Junior will hear of it all and off himself in the nursing home. Anthony Jr. will be left - a pathetic symbol of what Tony would have become had he not chosen a life of crime. Tony was doomed either way.
Those are my predictions!

They should just have Jack Bauer come over and kill everybody. That would wrap it up.
LMAO at Big White Hat's comment! Interesting. I haven't watched it all along but I did watch a couple of seasons and have kind of followed the plot. "Rumours abound that Adriana is not dead." I did not know this. I can't remember fully the circumstances following her killing but did we see her body or see her killed? I can't remember. She could be in the care of the Feds, singing away? Hmmmmm...
It's a great show, really well done, but, to me, the very best thing about The Sopranos is that Entourage comes on as soon as it's over! :)
i see neither the relevance of TV nor its contribution to the good of man, especially shows that are so obviously aimed at the lower cravings of man. Why bother?
I see 3 possibilities for the sopranos ending and the third one is going to be a eye opener.
1.) Tony fights it out with the New York mob and looses so many of his people and family that he has to turn to the FBI (turning state evidence) to save whats left of his life and his family. The thing he said he would never do.
2.) Tony wins the fight with New York and he becomes the new boss. This is something that would hate for the simple reason that everyone that had the job before him are either dead or in prison forever.
The first 2 sound good but there isn't enough episodes left to build a good enough plot, if they would have started earlier this year when it came back it could have been done.
3.) Adrianna is not dead, Sil didn't kill her.
I never heard anything about this rumor until a week ago, but it may make sense. Look back to the last couple of seasons of the sopranos, Sil did help Tony to kill in the first season and also to kill Big P***y. But for the last few years he hasn't did anything but give advice and listen to Tony. Sil may be a Cooperator for the FBI. And that would make sense that they never found her body and just assumed that Sil took care of it.
Remember we never knew that the guy who killed himself last year was an informant, it just jumped out at us. And also as you said about the FBI being around him more often, it almost looks like there trying to get him to flip, because Sil knows only what Tony has done first hand but Tony being the head of New jersey. He knows everything about all of the other families.
Tony won't flip. It wouldn't make any sense. He's the boss, and the boss is who the feds are after. Based on the forshadowing, I would bet the last seen is Tony being arrested.
It's me and I'm back and I love Europe and I'm going back again in September to do the British Isles.Wow I love this retirement at 56,you know a person could really get into this, and it's a heck of a lot better than slaving away in factory.

It sure is fun to speculate.....here's my two cents worth:
1. I'm pretty sure that Adriana is not coming back....there's really no point after Christopher's death.
2. I'm suspicious of the sub-sub-sub-plot that is hanging out there with the Muslims. David Chase has not shied away from political commentary over the seasons.
3. I hadn't thought of the "Sil Angle." The ultimate betrayal....
4. Sadly, I agree that Meadow is in jeopardy. We saw the reaction that Tony has to anyone who harms his little girl.
Frankly....there is a tremendous amount to tie up over the next two episodes.....Fugetabahdit!!!!
What do we think happens with Dr. Melfi? Irregardless of the outcome of the series....what is revealed in Tony's last session?
Hey WFW: The Italian performers I like are The Tenors. I really don't have time to watch that other musical group - whatcha call them - The Sopranos. Besides, I have to get to bed early - such is the life of a chicken farmer. Been real busy getting ready for an Organic certifying group to come in here. All the paperwork - just to show that I feed my chickens right and all that other stuff like no antibiotics. Frankly, I've never used antibiotics. Heck, I eat the eggs my hens lay so why in the whole would I want to be swallowing a slew of antibotics? The answer is I wouldn't. I will get a better price for my eggs when I get certified. Sorry I haven't stayed up with your blog. It is the only one I visit and it jus' so happened your blog started at the same time I started trying to figure out what all this "blog" stuff was. You know having grandkids makes you want to keep up. Now they want me to start text something or other and "Tivoing." I told them I've got to get use to the technology I know before I add more. What label are those Sopranos on? I may check with my library here to see if I can borrow one of their records or whatever. Gotta scoot. Old Baldy
Glad to see that you say you are okay just busy, but don't forget to drop by and say hello once in a while. Jeesh, listen to the pot callin' the kettle black. I haven't been around in a while at least to leave a message but I have been poppin' in to see if you are posting. Hope all is well with you and yours. Big hugs and keep smilin'
tonis character since day one has been based on a strong man that can survive. i dont believe hes gonna die, i believe this is the type of character that will build up and go out on top. and besides if they kill him off theyll just be doing what everyone expects. as for tonis daughter, shes becoming a crime lawyer or something, shell probably work with that to help her dad by messing with evidence and such. as for Aj, his characters always been based on a spoiled kid who doesnt know what he wants, and shows some of his fathers characteristics, meening he'll probly follow in his footsteps. tonis wife, she doesnt really have a big plotline going on does she, shell probably stay neutral.
I THINK THAT AJ IS GOING TO SAVE TONI UNEXPECTEDLY TO PROVE HE IS A MAN AND NOT THE SPOILED KID WE THINK AND I THINK THAT THE SOPRANO WOMEN WILL BE SAFE. I THINK THAT TONI WILL TURN ON THE OTHER FAMILIES AFTER DR. MELFI TELLS THE FEDS EVERYTHING SHE KNOWS. I CANT WAIT TIL THE NEXT EPISODE!
just reading your take on what the last episode might hold one thing jumped out at me. Meadow being mistaken for Tony- this happened with Beverly Hills 90210. Dylan's wife was killed by her own father when she was driving Dylan's car. It was good then but too predictable nowadays. Sorry don't buy that one!
Syl is alive!
I have read that the series ends with Tony receiving an "unexpected guest" at his house. It's Syl. If you recall the last episode, Tony couldn't get through to the hospital, but Paulie said he was told that it was doubtful that Syl would regain consciousness. Syl's being protected by New York. He must have had a bullet proof vest on. Notice he wasn't shot in the head or riddled with bullets like Bobby was. Even after Bobby hit the ground, they unloaded a couple of more rounds into him to make sure the hit was complete. The hit men didn't do this with Syl when they drove away and took one last peak into the car.
As much as I hate to say it... Syl is the one who turns on Tony! And kills him!
That second to last episode was just a dream. It ended with Tony lying down in bed. He's gonna wake up in the hospital still after recovering from being shot by Uncle Junior. Everything from that point until now is all a dream.
Windfall lAdy -- You don't know what you are talking about, really. It's obvious you tried (allegedly) to cram roughly 10 years of speculations and analysis of a show within a few months. There is no way you can get a feel for these characters by doing that. Meadow is not, as you say, the only "moral" character. She has changed a lot since Season 1 and she fully knows what her father is involved in and no longer questions it -- simply uses his money. She is currently dating Patrick Parisi -- known Mafia soldier's son.
The final scene was filled in Bloomfield NJ at an ice cream shop. Satriale's is fictional and part of the sound stage in LI.
It's more than obivous you've put together a posting that merely gleans from other things you have heard. Very surface and a true sign of a Sopranos "bandwagon" fan.
David. You are a tool. There is nothing wrong with TV. Entertainment goes far in the welfare of Man so get the fuck off your high horse.
I think it will all be a dream sequence with Tony waking up in the hospital bed after being shot by Uncle Junior.
I think the entire last season is a dream sequence and Tony will wake up finally after being shot by Uncle Junior.
wow um, i havent been watching the show myself, but i just thought i would drop in and say hi!
wow...some people are in a baaaad mood! like the one before sean. and then maybe sean. CAN'T PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS???
whatever, I'm not gettin' into this, but don't be mean to sweet WFW. She's entitled to her opinions.

I am sure they won't be able to answer all the lingering questions about the show in the finale...there's simply not enough time.
All the predictions are interesting....but unlikely. For example - There is no way by killing Phil, Tony would become a NY mob boss....it simply doesnt work that way.
I don't think Adriana has anything to do with the finale---has anyone heard if she was even at the final taping?
Now, as far as the angle with Sil being a rat . . . interesting.
I was thinking maybe this whole show was actually based on Tony's account of things that happened....after the fact. Like maybe, TONY turned informant, and the entire show is his "confessions"?
Dr. Melfi has been such a big part of the show---cant imagine she just goes away after the previous episode.
AJ is the "wild card" I think in all this..who the heck knows what he'll do...
I'm sorry the show is coming to an end. As far as I'm concerned, I'd watch it as long as they keep making new ones.
Everyone crack open a bottle of wine, have some ziti and ENJOY the finale!
What ever happens Tony Soprano will end up as the Kenneth guy that he was in the dream he had after being shot, maybe he is that guy and was dreaming Tony's existance all this time OR maybe he will go into a witness protection program and become him (the business man Kenneth or Kevin I forget his name).
Giannamarisa
Guys,It's a dream, I know it, the whole thing is a dream and I think tony is really the salesman. Didn't you ever notice EVERY time "Tony" kills someone he looks up in the sky and sees a big bright light? And gets a strange look on his face? Everytime. The whole show.
Meadow or AJ flips?
