Wasn't "Red Rider" the name of the air rifle that Ralphie wanted in "A Christmas Story"?
I made a mistake in spelling...it was actually "Red Ryder" and it was a comic strip by Fred Harmon. You can read more about it here:

How do you get people to leave so many random comments? You just post a picture of a cake and suddenly you've got wishes for a good weekend, inquiries into your relationship with you father, debates about film. If only it was that simple for me.
