Heart of Stone

A heart that has turned to stone
Rendered from feeling all alone
Wrung from a life of giving
Now seems barely capable of living
Please God make the hardness soften
Before the body lies cold in a coffin

I'm sorry, darlin'. I don't know about you but we got this little tease of spring and then, poof, it was gone and now it's cold again. *sigh* We had a fire in the fireplace last night. Take care of yourself. You've got good folks out here who care about you.

Saying a prayer that you will see and feel hope. It sounds like today hasn't been a good one for you.

that is quite beautiful, yet dark, like the night in a desert. Cool, empty, yet punctuated with a thousand tiny lights. Hope springs eternal, God is with you, good hearts win.

I am stone
I am the rock
I am black mountain,
exploding in the rain.

Once I was down. I'll never forget when a very loving person sent me these lyrics by Andy Partridge:

Wrapped in Grey

Some folks see the world as a stone
Concrete daubed in dull monotone
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
How coloured the flowers all smelled
As they huddled there, in petalled prayer
They told me this, as I knelt there
Awaken you dreamers
Adrift in your beds
Balloons and streamers
Decorate the inside of your heads
Please let some out
Do it today
But don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
Some folks pull this life like a weight
Drab and dragging dreams made of slate
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
Just think how the old masters felt, they call...
Awaken you dreamers
Asleep at your desks
Parrots and lemurs
Populate your unconscious grotesques
Please let some out
Do it today
Don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
And in the very least you can
Stand up naked and
Grin

Things will get better. Hope you can focus on the love that IS coming your way. We never stop learning from love's many lessons -- even in reverse and looking back on what went wrong.

If you care to check it out, read of my recent realizations on love by the heart of a 2-year-old.

aw WFW! I'm sorry if you are sad!!
:( it makes you think though, about prayer and the human heart itself, and the cruel ways in which we humans act. Wow I have no idea where that came from! haha.
